A few of us were chatting today about the best steak we’ve ever had. Mine was a steak rossini at what is now The Lemon Tree.
This was around 2003 but I seem to think it was called something else back then? Was it or is it just my memory playing tricks?

It used to be an Italian restaurant called “Graffiti” it was all black and white and chrome style decor.

I had a few excellent Tournedos Rossini there about that time. Is that what you mean?

Yes, that’s more like the name I remember & being Italian fits on with the rossini, thank you

It was 1939, Neville Chamberlain was waffling on about something and it was at the Steak & Claret.
I ended up lashed to the bone at Minsky’s in Abbott Street, trying to get to the bottom of the rumours about Big Annes’s tattoos.

‘Mild & Bitter’ was the theory as I recall. I remain scarred to this day.
