Surely in 2018 Wrexham Council will aspire to better living conditions for eight unrelated people than sharing one kitchen , one toilet and one shower. If the Council demanded a minimum stand of at least “studio” accommodation or one bedroomed flats, developers would be forced to raise their standards. No one wants to live in cramped conditions. Developments like this are taking us back to the early 1990’s and are not fit for the 21st Century.

They don’t have the power. Where they’ve refused them the inspectorate overturns the decision. Same everywhere.

A side effect of not building enough houses in the last thirty years.

Councils can influence the planning specifications especially if they are included in their LDP !

Also a knock on effect of Margaret Thatcher selling off the Social Housing stock!!!

Unless people lobby our elected representatives for change, we are condemning people to live in a bedroom, with all their worldly goods , and limited access to a kitchen and bathroom.
