I see that Allington Hall former home of Gresford Youth Club is to go under the hammer at the end of this month. Despite efforts to save it, the new “detached” Youth Club operation was heralded as the modern, efficient, user-focused way to operate. Guess what ?? The Youth Club has now transferred to a new base in Marford Community Centre for 2 nights a week. So more or less back to the old form of provision and an admission of failure of detached working.
May I add that the Council still won’t hand over the lease to the trust management formed months ago to take over this Community Centre. Instead they have moved Youth Service filing cabinets and equipment into the centre and it is being left in an dirty, untidy state after Youth Club evenings.
Will WCBC please state what is going on with this situation?

I am surprised that the Allington Hall is being sold by the Council — is this building not a Charitable Trust– have the Charity Commission actually given permission –where will the proceeds of the sale go — Council coffers or reinvested back in the community.
Why has Gresford Community Council not checked this out.

It is County Council property, sold by the church to council years ago.
