Are we getting value for money from the new enlarged Executive Board? Having watched a number of webcast meetings , there is no obvious difference , the meetings still appear staged and most important votes are unanimous. The extra two members cost in the region of £63,000, what purpose do they serve ?

Executive – Relating to or having the power to put plans or actions into effect (think about the savings they will make on the Groves!)

And this is why they get Executive pay!
We certainly get Value For Money, no qualms about that.

It’s alright this politics lark, in what other professions can you set your own pay? Love the halfhearted excuses for voting not to cut their own pay. ‘We have a lot of work to do’. Yes, you and the rest of us too.

Same argument here as on the Terry Bowland thread – basic calculation — how many meetings, how long and what pay- Many non Executive/Lead Member Councillors are on £500+ a meeting (aprox average of 2 hours) due to their poor attendance or not even taking up a seat on a Scrutiny Committee.
How many people in Wrexham earn this level!!

Jealousy is the tribute mediocrity pays to genius.

Face it, if you could vote yourself a nice pay rise you would! Screw saving £45,000,0000 and fairness, its do as I say, not as I do!

I applaud them for following human nature and feathering their own nests.
