    Hi all,

I know there used to be (only a month or two back) a direct train from Wrexham General to Birmingham on the Arriva Trains Wales Birmingham-Holyhead route.

I was looking today for a trip to BHM and it looks like they’ve re-routed them through Chester instead.

Anyone got any info on when this happened, or why? I can’t find anything relevant on ATW’s website.

The direct trains still exist (1 every two hours) but there’s currently engineering work between Wolverhampton and Birmingham so it’s easier to go via Chester.

Ack never mind, there still are direct trains, but the national rail website isn’t showing any for today. Not sure what’s going on there.

If you jump on twitter and ask @nationalrailenq; tell them when you’d like to travel, they’ll tell you the easiest method of getting there. Normally fast replies. :)
