Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities, Partnerships and Collaboration will take part in a Twitter Q&A session this Friday from 12pm

Cllr Jones will answer questions on community safety and perceptions of crime in the town centre. You can put forward your questions during the @wrexhamcbc Twitter takeover using the hashtag #AskWCBC

Could be a good chance to ask some questions that have been mentioned on the forums. Hopefully a few people take part, as one with the Town Centre Manager a few weeks ago saw just two questions being asked!

They could have a proper debate if they came on here, rather attempting to ask and answer questions in 140 characters!!!

Wrexham Council do have an account on our forums, however doesn’t seem to have been used in a while. They’re more than welcome to come and use our forums as an outlet for debate though!

Good of the council press officer to submit the qs, Cllr Jones must have been feeling lonely!

What was that all about!?! Are the Council’s communications stuck in the 1980’s. It’s the substance we’re after, not the cosmetic use of a medium.

Real engagement with the community is about job prospects, earnings, quality of life being enhanced through effective well-being. Especially for the young and older generations. Education that provides for a great future.

When is a proper debate of substance going to happen? When people are properly available (not in work). Based on the policies and intentions the Council has published … and that the community is living in the midst of.

I asked the WCBC forum member, in another thread, if food waste could be wrapped in newspaper and placed in the ” green” bin, as is the practice in some other parts of the country. I am still waiting for the answer!

The Council have a legal obligation to engage with and consult with the community through reasonable means … the level of community engagement in wrexham.com probably means they have a legal obligation to engage with the community through this medium.
