Grease returned to Ysgol Clywedog in Wrexham on the evenings of the 3rd and 4th July.

It’s the original high-school musical, and featured Adam Hodges as Danny and Ella Nelson and Lauren Griffiths making their Grease debut as Sandy. During the performances, the audience was treated to all the well-known hits from the show, including Greased Lightnin’ and You’re the One that I Want. We even had two different casts performing on the two nights, with members slotting into the choir on the night they weren’t acting. Pupils from years 7-11 were involved in some capacity, and it was the most-ambitious stage show we put on since 2009.

The only word I can use to describe it is amazing. It had perfect production, dazzling dancing and superb singing and was absolutely superb from start to finish. All together, around 1,200 people came to see the musical as the new intake of year 7s were able to watch our final dress rehearsal and they thoroughly enjoyed it!

It was a privilege to have been involved with all the pupils who worked extremely hard to put it together. Not only did the pupils act and help backstage, they also raised enough funds to create the most professionally produced show I’ve been involved with at Ysgol Clywedog, and every single member of the cast and crew did a totally terrific job.

The reviews : Everyone who went to see it has had nothing but great things to say about it. I’ve put together a collection of the best reviews from social media and letters to the local press so you can see just how much the audience loved our production of Grease.

It’s so nice to read positive comments about the school and rightly so the production was fabulous.

A great performance of Grease @Ysgol_Clywedog tonight! Well done to all involved @ClywedogMusic #broughtbackgoodmemories #congrats

The @Ysgol_Clywedog production of Grease was so fun today. Proud of everybody in the cast, it couldn’t have gone better

The buzz created around the show was amazing and I salute every member of my drama class at Ysgol Clywedog 2014.

I will be announcing the next school production for next year very soon.
