Updated: Power cut caused by “overhead line fault” affecting properties across parts of Wrexham

A number of homes across Wrexham have been affected by a power cut.

SP Energy Networks say an “overhead line fault” has caused the issued for properties in Coedpoeth, Minera, Bwlchgwyn, Gwynfryn and surrounding areas.

The power cut took place shortly after 10:30am and is not expected to be fully restored until 4pm.

Details provided by SP Energy Networks, say: “We did not know in advance there would be a power cut, and became aware of this at 10:36AM.

“Our team has managed to restore power to a number of properties in the area and are still working to locate a fault on the overhead line network affecting the rest of our customers without power.

“We now expect all power to be back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 4:00PM.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”
