Missing Wrexham Man – Kevin Wyburn Williams
Police are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a Wrexham man who has been missing from home since Monday.
North East Wales Search And Rescue (NEWSAR) are currently assisting North Wales Police in the search for 49-year-old Kevin Wyburn Williams who was last seen at around 6pm on Monday 25th March when he left Wrexham Maelor Hospital, having been treated at the A and E department following a fall.
He spoke to his brother on the phone at around 7pm that day, but has not been seen or heard from since.
Kevin, who lived alone, is described as being white, 5’8” tall of thin build, with short grey hair. He is clean shaven, has blue eyes and walks with a limp.
Inspector Kevin Steele said “This is out of character for Kevin. We would urge anyone who may have seen him or who may know of his whereabouts to contact police immediately on 101.”
Update 6:30pm: NEWSAR have been stood down.
The search and rescue team have said “The team were called out to assist North Wales Police search for missing Wrexham man Kevin Williams.”
“10 of our volunteer team members met at Wrexham Police Station at 1pm. In conjunction with North Wales Police our search manager on scene carefully selected search areas and assigned search parties.”
“The team was stood down at 17.02”.
Several members of the public have been in touch saying emergency services and search and rescue teams were active late this afternoon around the Hospital and behind Morrisons.
Two eyewitnesses told us the focus of activity was on the footpath close to the railway line which runs parallel to Llys David Lord.
NEWSAR costs around £25,000 a year to run, and all team members are volunteers. You can read more about their fundraising and how to help by clicking here.
