There were plenty of smiles this afternoon as Wrexham AFC made their annual Christmas visit to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Ten players, including Sam Wedgbury, Akil Wright, Ntumba Massanka, Ferdinand Tayki, Kevin Roberts, Christian Dibble, George Miller, Chris Dunn, Jack Mackreth and Marcus Kelly accompanied by the Club Media Team visited the children’s wards to hand out Christmas gifts and show support for young patients and their families.

The players arrived with club gifts for children of all ages. They spent time posing for photos and signing autographs for the youngsters in the outpatient and inpatient ward areas, and spending lots of one-to-one time chatting to the children.

The Club said: “Wrexham AFC are proud to go along and help spread some festive cheer at what is a difficult time for children and their families to be spending in hospital.”

“The Dragons also wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the members of staff at the Hospital, as well as visiting the children.”

Media Team member Gemma Hogan said: “We’d like to thank the hospital staff for all of their dedicated hard work. We’d also like to thank the children and their families for having us. Everyone was so pleased to see the players visit the hospital this afternoon.”

“Being in the heart of the community is what the club is all about, and little things like this make a huge difference.”
