Updated: Firefighters called to incident at Bryn Lane recycling centre

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service remain at a local recycling centre following a fire earlier this morning.

Three crews from Wrexham, one crew from Johnstown, one crew from Deeside and one crew from Chirk remain are in attendance tackling the fire at the recycling centre on Bryn Lane.

The incident was reported at 8:45am this morning.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “We can confirm that there was a fire this morning contained to one area of the Bryn Lane site.

“No personnel were involved and there were no injuries.

“North Wales Fire and Rescue service are in attendance, and the fire is contained to one small area.

“Arrangements to accommodate all waste collections are in hand and we expect little or no disruption to today’s collections.

“Although our refuse vehicles will be slightly delayed when they attend site to dispose of waste.

“Our household recycling centre is open as usual.”

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed on social media that crews had been called to a blaze at the recycling centre, on Bryn Lane.

Members of the public are being urged to stay away from the area while crews tackle the fire.
