A yellow weather warning is in place for Wrexham today, with warnings over possible thundery showers this afternoon.

Today will see highs of 20C with overcast and rainy conditions throughout. There are several bands of heavy rain due to pass through the area, with the worst due around 2pm and around 7pm based on current forecasts.

The near-waleswide forecast notes: “Whilst many areas will remain dry, some heavy, thundery downpours will break out this afternoon and evening.

“There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings. Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services

“Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”

It adds: “…there is a risk of slow-moving heavy, thundery downpours developing” throughout the day.
