The Ruthin Road junction of the A483 has been without lights for a while, however yesterday it went one better than being fixed!

Pete Evans sent us the above picture of the magic lights, saying: “This was quite a dilemma at J4 of the A483 Ruthin Exit. Is that Green or Red? It’s both!”

Over the weekend, the lights were still out of order with cars edging into the road to see if they can turn safely, however we did spot a man in a van looking to fix them:

The lights have been playing up for around a week that we know of, however this is the first time we have seen a stop/go traffic order in place!

Section 176 of the Highway Code does offer some guidance, saying:
You MUST NOT move forward over the white line when the red light is showing. Only go forward when the traffic lights are green if there is room for you to clear the junction safely or you are taking up a position to turn right. If the traffic lights are not working, treat the situation as you would an unmarked junction and proceed with great care.

Thankfully Wrexhamites appear to be cautious by nature, and have been creeping around the junction in an effort to stay safe.
