Wrexham Council says it is “working flat out” on cutting grass across the county borough, amid criticism from motorists over the lack of visibility on certain roads.

Over the past week a number of people have expressed concern about the grass alongside key routes in Wrexham, including Ruabon Roundabout, Mold Road and Gresford Roundabout.

One complaint did get a senior reply direct on twitter, however from Flintshire Council’s Chief Executive rather than anything in Wrexham, with Colin Everett saying: “I have to agree. Struggled with visibility tonight at that junction. Suggest a report to the local councillor. There are cost effective options for grass splaying”.

We asked Wrexham Council about the situation, and Cllr David A Bithell, lead member environment and transport, said: “We are aware of complaints from residents regarding the length of grass, the growth of which has increased due to the recent humidity.

“We are currently working flat out on cutting grass and will continue to do so into the coming weeks. We are also working on increasing the visibility on splays on highways.”

Things had moved on yesterday, with some positive reactions surfacing:
