Work Ongoing to Resume Services at Post Office Branch Which Temporarily Closed Last Month

Work to ‘resume services’ a local Post Office branch is underway after it was closed temporarily last month.

The Victoria Road Post Office, located in the Premier Stores on 63 Victoria Road, was closed suddenly for “operational reasons” on Tuesday 13th June.

A letter sent out to residents last week stated: “I am writing to advise you that, for operational reasons, the above branch (*Victoria Road Post Office) closed temporarily on Tuesday 13 June 2017. I am sorry for the late notification of the closure on this particular occasion.

“I can assure you that we are working to resume Post Office services at Victoria Road and I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause to people locally.

“In the interim, we hope that our customers will continue to use the Post Office and full details of alternative services in the area are shown at the end of this letter.

“We’re handling this change in line with our Code of Practice which sets out how we communicate and explain changes to the Post Office network.”

The letter adds: “I would like to thank you for your patience at this time. I will ensure that you are kept advised of developments in due course.”

Wrexham.com have since contacted the Post Office to see if there were any further details as to when the Victoria Road Post Office would reopen. An exact date wasn’t given, however a spokesperson confirmed that work is ongoing to reopen the branch as soon as possible.

A Post Office Spokesperson said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of the Post Office branch in Victoria Road. We would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to restore the service to the community as soon as possible and are committed to maintaining services in the area.

“In the meantime, customers can access Post Office services at any other convenient branch including Wrexham Post Office, 58 Hope Street, Wrexham, LL11 1BE and Rhosddu Post Office, Rhosddu Road, Wrexham, LL11 2NW.”
