Witnesses Sought Following Serious RTC In Bangor on Dee

An appeal for witnesses has been launched following a serious Road Traffic Collision on the A525 in Bangor on Dee over the weekend.

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following an RTC on the A525 in Bangor on Dee, Wrexham on Sunday 17th August 2014 which resulted in a man from the Birmingham area sustaining serious injuries.

The incident resulted in long delays and diversions around the area, with North Wales Police Control Room tweeting to say: “Please avoid the area and make other arrangements.”

The Control Room later tweeted: “RTC A525 Please follow diversions, traffic trying to cut through back road are being turned back, closed between Holybush & A539 turn off.” The road was later reopened shortly after 5pm.

Sergeant Jane Thomas of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Shortly after 10.15am on Sunday 17th August 2014 North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A525 Bangor on Dee Wrexham, involving a black coloured BMW RR1000ss Motorcycle. As a result of the collision the rider of the bike, a 28 year old man, sustained serious head injuries.

“An investigation is now underway into the cause and I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or seen the bike prior to the incident to contact Police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote reference RC14128779.”
