It’s been a month of snow, warm weather, flash floods and now strong winds are on the forecast for Wrexham.

A yellow weather warning – which is set to last between 9pm tonight and 3pm on Saturday – has been issued by the Met Office.

It covers all of Wales and large parts of England.

Locally gusts will start to pick up this evening, reaching over 30mph by 11pm. Heading into tomorrow the weather looks set to be blustery for most of the day, with gusts peaking at 46mph by around 9am.

Gusts between 40mph – 45mph are expected to last in Wrexham until later in the evening.

It’s also set to be a very wet start to the weekend, with heavy rain forecast throughout tomorrow.

A Met Office statement, explains: “Strong winds will push from west to east across parts of west Wales and southwest England late on Friday, then across the rest of Wales and southern, central and parts of northern England overnight and during Saturday.

“Gusts of 60-70 mph are likely around exposed coasts, especially in Wales and southwest England during the morning.

“Gusts of 45-55 mph are likely across inland areas before winds ease by late afternoon.”
