Organisers of the Wrexham Food Festival this weekend have circulated a reminder that the Saturday night will come to an end with a firework display scheduled for 8:50pm.

Committee member Sam Regan said: “As part of the changes to the ‘rebooted’ event we are running with live music and fireworks until 9pm on Saturday evening so people can make more of a day of it.

The fireworks will be set off from near to the Food Festival site on Llwyn Isaf, and we expect them to be audible around the town.

“We know we always wonder what bangs are, and sometimes those with pets like us, also appreciate a heads up so we thought we would draw specific attention to the display taking place.”

“There are no fireworks on the Sunday, and that ends a little earlier at 6pm.”

“We are doing things properly, and much like our longer term desire to be an entirely plastic free event, we want to include the people of Wrexham in the festival and notify them if something we do might affect them too even if they are not attending.

There is a lengthy ‘FAQ’ page on the festival’s website that can be found here.
