A vehicle was set alight in Wrexham overnight, with reports of four people running area from the scene.

The incident took place in the Bala Road area near Queensway.

Both North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene, with the fire believed to have been started deliberately.

Earlier today PC Thomas Hough said: “Whilst assisting Welsh Ambulance with a medical emergency on Queensway @wrexham we have then noted a car driving anti-socially and been driven at speed, area search completed which was negative.

“However the said vehicle was then reported by a member of public who stated that four persons ran from the vehicle on Bala Road @wrexham and abandoned on a field, the car was then set alight.”

Anyone with any further information about the incident is advised to contact North Wales Police on 101.
