Wrexham Council has assured residents that there will be no disruption to bin collections after an email to a number of residents earlier today was sent in error.

This afternoon Wrexham.com reported that residents had been warned that they could face not having their bins collected this week to a “number of refuse vehicles being out of service”.

The email which was sent to a number of residents earlier today said: “Unfortunately due to a number of refuse vehicles being out of service, there may be a disruption to the normal waste collection schedules.

“Please continue to present your receptacles on your usual collection day. Should these not be collected, we will endeavour to return for these as soon as possible but at present cannot guarantee which day this will be.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”

However Wrexham Council say that the message was “sent in error” and that there have been no disruptions to waste collection services.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “A message went out earlier today regarding the possibility of service disruption to waste collection services due to out-of-service vehicles.

“However, this message was sent in error – there have been no disruptions to waste collection services, which continue as normal, and there are no issues with vehicles. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
