Police are appealing for information after two men attempted to abduct a woman in Wrexham.

At approximately 9.15pm last night (Saturday 16th March) a 21 year old woman was walking alone along Fairfield Street in Wrexham when a white VW Transporter with two men on board pulled up alongside her. Fairfield St is by the side of Poplar Road Co-op, opposite St Giles School.

They asked her to get into the vehicle and when she refused one suspect took hold of her wrist and attempted to pull her in to the vehicle.

The victim broke free and the vehicle drove off.

DS Andrew Hughes said, “While it is understandable that people will be concerned when they hear about incidents like this, North Wales Police would like to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident and thankfully the victim was not seriously hurt. We are exhausting all lines of enquiry to identify the offenders and bring them to justice.”

Anyone in the area at that time who witnessed anything suspicious or has dash-cam footage should contact 101 or use the police online webchat via this link https://www.north-wales.police.uk/contact/live-chat-support quoting incident number X035795.
