Two people have been arrested following a foot chase in Cefn Mawr.

The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, 21 April and involved a 24-year-old male and a 36-year-old female.

Both were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, after officers witnessed the male discarding a package over a wall following a brief foot chase.

The package was later found to contain a significant amount of cannabis wrapped in plastic bags.

Wrexham Rural Chief Inspector Gavin Gilmore has thanked the district’s residents for their continued support following the incident,

Ch Insp Gilmore said: “These arrests were intelligence-led and were made possible because of information sharing.

“As a force we gather information from a variety of sources, but reports made by members of the public about individuals of concern are crucial to our work.

“I’d like to thank the residents of the Wrexham Rural district for their ongoing support in raising their concerns with us.

“We’re here to ensure our communities are safe places for everyone. All reports of suspected criminal activity in the district are valuable, and are always investigated to their fullest extent.”
