Train Delays After ‘Lorry Collides With Bridge’

Trains between Wrexham General and Shrewsbury have been delayed this afternoon after a vehicle struck a bridge.

Arriva Trains Wales have issued a statement to say: “Due to a lorry colliding with a bridge between Ruabon and Chirk trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.

“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 mins or revised. Disruption is expected until 17:00 23/10.

“Network Rail advise that a lorry has been reported as hitting a rail-over-road bridge.

“Trains will stop out-of-course and pass over the affected bridge at very slow speed.”
