The wait is over – Wrexham’s McDonald’s reopens after “digital makeover”
There’s good news for fans of McDonald’s in Wrexham, with the town centre store reopening today after a six week closure.
The Regent Street restaurant has undergone a digital makeover aimed at improving customer experience following significant investment from local franchisee Stewart Williams.
Changes include the installation of self-order kiosks, which McDonald’s say will allow visitors to the restaurant to “browse the menu, look at nutritional information and personalise their meals, giving people more time to consider their food and drink choices”.
McDonald’s also say that the changes have been designed with ‘changing customer needs in mind’, and the dedicated ‘dining room hosts’ will ensure the process is as quick and easy as possible.
Table service has also been introduced to take the ‘stress’ out of finding somewhere to sit when carrying food, potentially with children, bags and buggies.
For those who have been decanted up to Chirk and use the restaurant section rather than the drive-thru the changes will be familiar.
Franchisee Stewart Williams, who owns and operates eight restaurants in Flintshire and Wrexham including the one on Regent Street, says: “These changes are designed to make our customers’ experience as positive as possible- whether that’s providing people with a chance to get to grips with using a tablet in a relaxed environment, or providing parents with a quick and easy way of ordering their food.
“When ordering with the new kiosks customers will have the option to make different food choices, for example swapping fries for a side salad or adding a fruit bag to their children’s Happy Meal.”
McDonalds has also said the changes on Regent Street have created 20 new jobs.
