Scouts from the 1st Rhosnesni Group in Wrexham are once again selling Christmas trees this year to raise funds.

The group has been selling trees, both through orders and sales outside their hut, since 2010 and sales have been up year on year. Last year the Scouts sold around 150 trees and the profits contributed a third of the cost of the new roof they’ve just had fitted.

The trees are top quality Nordman Firs which are non-needle drop and have no roots. The are available from £28 for a 4 foot tree up to £40 for a 7 foot, and the group will also deliver for an extra £3 within 2 miles from Rhosnesni, or £5 within 10 miles. Trees are available for collection, or direct sale from outside the Scout hut on Dean Road between 10am and 4pm on Saturday the 1st, 8th and 15th of December.

Last year the Scouts were asked to deliver around 80% of the trees they sold with the rest being picked up from the hut, and they saw lots of repeat trade from satisfied customers from the year before.

Mel Lewis from Garden Village in Wrexham said, “We’ve had trees from the Scouts for the last two years now. The delivery service is a lot more convenient than going out and getting your own, especially when there are so many other things to sort out for Christmas. The tree was really good quality and we’ll certainly be ordering one again this year.”

You can download a booking form and find more details on the Scouts’ website at
