A powercut is affecting supplies in the Llay area this morning.

SP Energy have said, “There is a power cut affecting the LL11, LL12 and LL13 postcode areas of Llay and Wrexham. We had no advance warning of this and first became aware of it at 9:55 am. Our engineers have arrived on site to find and fix the fault as quickly and as safely as possible. We expect your electricity supply to be restored by 12:15 pm.”

Local Councillor Rob Walsh has said, “I am just trying to collate all the information I have read. Seems it’s all of Llay is out except Llay Green estate. Not heard anything about Pentre Street area? Big thank you to everyone who has reported the faults, it seems they have had hundreds of reports. From what I can read they are looking at power coming back on 1pm. However, anyone with more up to date information please let me know.”

Alyn Family Doctors have said the issue is affecting their connectivity, “The power cut in Llay is causing huge disruption to our services and telephone and computer systems today. We are currently only able to handle very urgent calls through the system.”

“If you need medical advice, you can call NHS Direct on 111 or dial 999 for an emergency. The doctors are working through the appointment lists for today but may take longer than usual to get to you.”
