Three People Rescued From Fire Overnight

Update: Police are appealing for information following a fire at a first floor flat in Wrexham overnight. 

Officers were alerted to the blaze at Y Wern at 12.03am this morning.

Flats in the vicinity were evacuated while firefighters tackled the fire and one man was taken to hospital.

Fire scene investigators and Crime Scene Investigators are currently at the location examining the scene and at this time the fire is being treated as suspicious.

House to house inquiries are also underway in the area and police are appealing to anyone who has information regarding the incident to contact DC 2498 Bowyer Jones or DC 1101 Williams at Wrexham CID on 101. Alternatively, Individuals with information can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Three people have been rescued from a flat fire in Caia Park.

The three people were trapped on a first floor apartment. Fire services were called to the fire on Y Wern shortly after midnight.

Over a dozen fire fighters attended the scence, using ladders and hand tools to gain access to the flat. Three engines attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
