A second free family fun day will be held in Rhosddu later this month.

The fun day, to be held on August 30 in Rhosddu Park, follows on from a similar event in May.

Like that event, it has been organised by the town’s MP Ian Lucas, local PCSOs, the Grosvenor councillor and a group of community organisations.

Among the attractions are live music, a storyteller, a dog show, bouncy castles, stocks and waterslides and a treasure hunt. Groups including Wrexham Tennis Centre and North Wales Police will also be taking part.

Organisations involved in the day include St James’ Church, AVOW, the Salvation Army, Dynamic, Rhosddu’s PCSO team, Rhosddu Methodist Chapel, Rhosddu Community Council, Rhosddu Spar, Tesco and Asda.

Mr Lucas said: “The first fun day was a real success and it was great to see lots of people using the park. Many of the organisations who took part then really found the day helpful – it has strengthened ties in the community. Contacts made at the last fun day helped with the renovation of St James’ Church – with support from Rhosddu Spar.

“Families who came along enjoyed themselves too. These fun days are all about bringing families back to the park – and I’m looking forward to seeing as many people as possible on August 30.”
