North Wales Police arrest 44 in major crime crackdown
North Wales Police have carried out a force-wide operation, leading to a significant number of arrests across the region.
The operation, spanning three days, involved over 120 officers and staff from various units, including the Local Policing Service, Drone Team, Armed and Dog Alliances, Roads Crime Unit, Rural Crime Team, Special Constabulary, and the Serious and Organised Crime Unit.
The coordinated effort resulted in 44 individuals being arrested for a range of offences.
The crackdown focused on executing warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act, conducting stop searches, targeting drink and drug drivers with hundreds of motorists stopped, and ensuring compliance with Domestic Violence Prevention Orders.
The operation led to 16 warrants being executed, resulting in the seizure of Class A and B drugs, firearms, and other weapons.
In addition to these efforts, the operation also targeted prolific shoplifters and individuals wanted for failing to appear in court. While these proactive initiatives were underway,
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) maintained a visible presence in local communities, engaging with residents and offering advice on securing properties and vehicles.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Allsop commented on the operation’s significance: “These activities are already done daily by officers across our force area, but occasionally we will implement an intensification initiative, in order to maximise the impact of our efforts to reduce criminality.
“From drug dealers to burglars, those who endanger people by carrying weapons or driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, the message is loud and clear – you are not welcome in North Wales.”
