North Wales Crusaders rugby league club are to play at the Queensway Stadium as their formal ‘home ground’, moving from the Racecourse.

Directors say that they are putting plans in place for next season ‘that we feel will provide a better and more sustainable future for the club’.

In a statement issued this afternoon an options assessment is referred to, with the outcome being a meeting with Queensway Stadium early next week with a view to ‘form an agreement for next season’ for it to become the club’s home venue.

The Directors say: “Although The Racecourse has been a fantastic venue over the last couple of seasons, it is out of our reach financially. We want to bring the club closer to the community and expand our income streams, at Queensway, we feel that we can do that.”

The update also mentions the search for a new Head Coach, which started after Anthony Murray stepped down. “A number of applications” have already been made, with the deadline being 9am next Monday morning.

The club has also said they are looking to hold a ‘fans forum’ in the coming weeks to update supporters on the ground move, team, proposed homeshirt and various other bits of information.
