Road users were delayed by up to an hour this rush hour and evening after a mystery incident affected traffic on the A55 and A483, with a 4 vehicle incident later.

UPDATE: Roads appear clear again…

UPDATE: The A55 westbound has been closed following an accident involving four vehicles. The incident took place between J39 A41 (Sainsbury’s / Boughton Heath Roundabout) and J38 A483 Wrexham Road (Posthouse roundabout)

The above incident appears unconnected to whatever has caused the traffic delayed, occurring around an hour earlier, on the same area of the road network.

Queues are currently reaching north from Rossett as pictured above, with the A55 to the east of Chester affected.

Those following Wrexham.com or our twitter would have seen the following updates:

Radio traffic reports were of little use as the official notifications systems were not showing any incidents or slow traffic, so the road network was being described as ‘clear’.

There are currently unconfirmed reports as to what the cause of the traffic is, with some saying it’s the volume of cars on the road while someone else has said there is a broken down vehicle in the road.
