Mold Road has reopened after an early morning incident. The road closure and other roadworks around town created large traffic issues for many people.

The road reopened at 9:30am and Arriva Trains have announced at 9:42 that trains are now running normally again.

Original story below:
People are being asked to avoid the Mold Road this morning as it is closed due to an ongoing incident.

The road is closed off from Dunelm Mill up towards the new Premier Inn.

North Wales Police have said via twitter: “Mold road @wrexham closed for the time being due to ongoing incident. Please avoid.”

Arriva Trains have said: “A trespass incident between Wrexham General and Wrexham Central means trains cannot run between these stations. This is expected to continue until approximately 10am.”

The closure is creating the traffic problems that you would expect, with Graham adding on our Facebook page: “Avoid Rhosddu Road by old Walnut pub, traffic lights slow. Roadworks/lights on Chester Road too.”
