A new multi-use gaming area (MUGA) for the Ponciau community has officially been opened by the mayor of Wrexham.

The facility has been installed at Ponciau Banks following requests to Rhos Community Council from local youngsters.

An opening ceremony was held at the MUGA last week, with members of the community council, North Wales Police and Theo and Tomas from Ysgol I.D Hooson.

The MUGA was officially opened by Mayor of Wrexham Cllr Andy Williams.

A free open air concert will also take place at Ponciau Park this weekend, with the Northop Brass holding an open air concert on Sunday 25 June.

Taking place at 2pm, the event is free to attend and refreshments will be available at the Bowling Pavillion.
