A city centre brewery is supporting Shelter Cymru this Christmas.

Magic Dragon Brewery Tap, on Charles Street, is collecting donations for the charity throughout this month at their music events.

These include:- 15 Decemeber, Pa Gur Band, 22 December Andy Hickie & friends, 24 December Open mic night with Laura Leigh-Dickenson and Josh Edwards, 27 December Lovers Open Fire & Groom the Giant and 29 December Missing Persons Bureau DJ set.

David Salisbury, Manager of the tap said: “All are music events are free entry, but this month were asking for donations for this great charity, no matter how small.

“We have a great line up of bands throughout December, please come along and support however you can.”

Almost 3,500 children in Wales will wake up homeless this Christmas.

With thousands of people on the brink of poverty and no sign of the cost-of-living crisis coming to an end, homelessness is a reality that many families are facing this winter.

Shelter Cymru helps 18,000 people a year who are either experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

In Wrexham, Shelter Cymru helped 894 people in 2022 who were either living in bad housing or facing/experiencing homelessness.

Frankie, Shelter Cymru’s Regional Fundraiser for North Wales added: “We are incredibly thankful to the team at Magic Dragon Brewing for choosing to support us this Christmas- Diolch o galon.”

Magic Dragon Brewery Tap recently won CAMRA pub of the year for Wales 2023. The tap serves cask ale and craft beer from Magic Dragon Brewing as well as guest beers, lagers and ciders.
