Wrexham Council is currently undertaking its annual engagement with clients and their Carers registered with Social Services.

The exercise is completed to understand how well the Council is managing to support clients and their carers and to inform business plans for the future year.

During the last week of September the survey will be posted to a large sample of clients and all carers registered on the Council’s system.

This year and subsequent years the Council is also now being required to send out a survey for Welsh Government and the two surveys are being combined to reduce costs and duplication of resources.

Responses are required by the 28th October 2016, to enable analysis and to comply with Welsh Government reporting requirements. The analysis of the Council questionnaires will inform business plans for 2017/18 which are due to start being developed prior to Christmas.

The Council has also made available an electronic version of the Carers survey, to make it easier for people to respond and provide their views and feedback on services. This can be found by accessing the following link http://goo.gl/03u5uV

The Council will also contact a large number of people who we there is uncertainty if they still in a Carers role to invite them to get in touch to allow the Council to update its records.

Lead Member for Health and Adult Social Care, Cllr Joan Lowe, said: “Adult Social Care really values the views of our customers as without this feedback we are unable to assess the quality and standards of the service and customer feedback does influence our business plans and how we shape our services now and into the future.

“Family members, friends and neighbours’ play a vital role in providing care and support to our clients and sometimes don’t always recognise themselves as Carers.

“I would encourage as many as possible to take part in the surveys so we can understand how we are performing in delivering services and also what support Carers feel they will need in the future and how we can provide that support.”

The Council’s Social media channels will be used to enable staff to directly engage with people who request information on Social Services and to try and reach out to more Carers who may not be registered with us and who we may be able to help.

You can stay in touch on Facebook at Wrexham Council and through Carers Wrexham. You can also follow us on Twitter @wrexhamcouncil or @cbswrecsam and for carers @CarersWrexham or @GofalwyrWrecsam
