A popular town centre coffee shop is set to close next month as its owner looks ahead to a new partnership with a local enterprise hub.

King Street Coffee Company, located in the Wrexham Bus Station, was opened by brothers Phil and Andy Gallanders at the start of April in 2016.

Two years later their offer expanded when Andy launched Bank Street Social across the town.

However this morning owner Phil announced that after almost five years in business, King Street Coffee would be closing its doors for good on Saturday 6 March.

Instead he and Andy will start a new partnership with Town Square Spaces to open up new coffee shops.

Speaking about the decision, Phil said: “We’ve always been blown away with the support that the people of Wrexham have shown us, especially in the last year with the issues brought about by the Covid situation.

“Our focus on quality goods and service alongside supporting the local community has led to us being offered the chance to partner with Town Square Spaces to open up coffee shops in future projects.

“In order to deliver these projects to the best of our abilities King Street Coffee Company will be closing and I’ll be joining Andy at Bank Street Social to continue serving top quality coffee and craft beer.

“The first space operated by Town Square Social will be opening in Rhyl later on this year with plans to expand to town centres all over the UK.”
