Guildhall Mayoral & Civic Alcohol Stock Detailed In Council FOI Response
Wrexham.com has been passed a FOI response by a reader, which requested a list of the alcohol kept on site at the Guildhall.
The FOI requested details of all the alcohol that is kept on site at the Guildhall, including the Mayor’s parlour. Detail was also requested to the type of alcohol and number of cans and bottles.
The response from Wrexham Council details two stores, one for the ‘Mayor’s Parlour’ and the other for Civic use.
We do not have a picture of the drinks cabinet, so we have created the following two graphics to see how it could look using the data provided by the FOI response.
The Mayor’s Parlour Drinks Stock:
We asked Wrexham Council for examples of the use of the drinks, and which budget this is funded by.
A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “Alcoholic drinks are occasionally offered (evening only) by the Mayor to visitors to the Mayor’s Parlour, such as local organisations/community groups, charities, volunteers etc.
“Mayors purchase the stock from their Hospitality Account.”
As for the Civic drinks store, they said: “The ‘Civic’ stock is offered to attendees at Freedom Parades, Annual Meeting of Council and one-off ‘special’ events.
“This is rarely used these days and is unlikely to be replenished”.
