The family of the man who died following a road traffic collision in Trevor, Llangollen earlier this month have paid tribute to him.

John Michael Thomas (fondly known as Mike) was 29-years-old, and he lived in the Corwen area.

Officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision shortly after 6:30pm on Saturday 2 December which involved a motorcycle and a Vauxhall Insignia.

His family have paid the following tribute to him:

“Mike has left a hole in everyone’s hearts, as a family, community and friends group.

“We will never forget how much of a loving and funny character Mike was.

“He would make everyone laugh and be happy on a down day, would do anything for anyone and would not expect anything in return.

“We can say that Mike had lived his life enjoying the things he loved – going out on his bike with his friends and spending time with his family. That’s what made him happy.

“He would never let anyone feel left out and that was just part of his personality!

“Coming down the path and through the door would light up everyone’s day and especially the three beeps whilst he went down the road.

“Mike was a loving Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He will never, ever be forgotten and we will keep his memory going as he has left such a big hole in so many people’s hearts.”

Officers would like to thank all those who have contacted them so far, and they continue to appeal to anybody who may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation to contact them.

Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our profound sympathies remain with Mr Thomas’ family and friends at this difficult time.

“We can confirm we’re not looking for anybody else in connection with this collision, however we continue to urge anybody who may have been travelling along the A539 and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”

Anybody with information is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number 2300122402.
