Early Hours Fire At Llay Co-Op Store (Video)

Roads were closed in Llay in the early hours of this morning as emergency services dealt with a fire at a Co-op shop.

Police said at 1:47am “Shone’s Lane onto Nant Y Gaer Road in llay, Wrexham is closed due to an on-going incident.”

Fire crews spent over two hours tackling the blaze, with the exact cause of the fire currently under investigation.

Two crews from Wrexham attended the scene and used two hose reel jets, two thermal imaging cameras, four breathing apparatus and hydraulic cutting equipment to extinguish the blaze.

Nina sent us the top picture telling us the fire was thought to be ‘due to an issue with the cash machine electronics’.

It is thought that no one has been injured. The extent of damage caused to the store it not yet known.
