A group of Cub Scouts in Wrexham experienced the joy of the outdoors at their first camping trip.

The 8 to 10 ½ year old Boys and Girls of the 1st Marchwiel Cub Scouts have had a great time camping for the first time. The trip was so successful that they are planning to do it again at the Bank Holiday Camp in just a-few weeks time.

Cameron Roberts aged nine said: “I won’t forget the Archery and cooking sausages for breakfast on a fire in the middle of a field, it was real fun.” His friend Lucas Oftedal, also aged nine, added that he particularly enjoyed the Bows and Arrows and running around with his crazy friends.

Jill Lewis, the current Group Scout Leader said: “It was the first time the Cubs had been camping. They learnt so much especially when working as a team, that we are already planning this next camp.”

Currently as there are some vacancies in the section, the leaders are keen to invite new boys and girls to join them for all the adventure and excitement of the camp and much more besides.

So if you are interested in joining them and are of the right age, boy or girl, just come along to the Scout Hut at the end of Station Road in Marchwiel, on a Friday 6 til 7pm.
