The town Centre was jam packed today today with thousands visiting the town centre to see the iconic Coca-Cola Truck.

The festive truck rolled up in the town centre earlier today, with parents and children visiting Queen’s Square throughout the afternoon to have their photos taken and embrace the Christmas cheer.

During the evening Queen’s Square was transformed into a winter wonderland and was illuminated by the lights of the Coca-Cola Truck and the town’s Christmas lights.

The evening saw huge crowds visit the town centre – with the truck providing the backdrop to many a festive selfie!

The presence of the Coca-Cola Truck seems to have had a positive knock on effect for town centre traders, with many shops staying open late to benefit from the additional footfall.

We are told the truck is a left hand drive ‘proper american’ cab, with a very skilled driver who is doing a five week tour.

People were queuing shortly after it ‘opened’ earlier this afternoon although there were some queue jumpers…

….with crowds and queues growing consistently through the evening:

Some have voiced concern over the truck and the product being promoted:

With others not keen on large HGV’s in general:

One reader did point out it was personal choice at the end of the day…
