Chicago Rock Cafe in Brook Street was closed this morning with immediate effect.

Earlier this month Wrexham.com reported that Daniel Butters and Adrian Berry of Deloitte had been appointed as Joint Administrators to the Cafe’s owners Atmosphere Bars and Clubs. The aim was to keep the business running with the aim to selling it on, however this does not seem to have been possible.

This morning staff were told that the venue based on Brook Street in town was one of eight bars to close, making around 20 members of staff redundant.

General Manager Dominic Gillespie, who has worked for the company for 12 months said: “It’s really sad for Chicago’s in Wrexham.”

The business, which is part of the Atmosphere Bars and Clubs franchise has 19 Chicago’s bars across the country.
