A charity tattoo day in aid of an organisation that rescues ex-racing Greyhounds will take place this summer.

Cathy Sue, owner of Dexterity Wrexham on Vicarage Hill, organised the event following the loss of her greyhound, Wiley, earlier this year.

On August 26 the city centre tattoo studio will offer pre-drawn tattoo designs from £20-£40 on a walk in basis.

All funds raised will be donated to Hector’s Greyhound Rescue, in Oswestry, which rescues and re-homes ex-racing greyhounds.

In the last year alone the charity found new homes for 74 former race dogs.

It is not the first time Dexterity Wrexham has supported the charity, having raised more than £4,000 at a similar event last year.

Cathy Sue told Wrexham.com: “I lost my greyhound, Wiley at the beginning of this year. He meant everything to me, and to my friends.

“So we, as a tattoo studio want to do something in his memory to help ex-racing greyhounds like him.

“We supported Hector’s Greyhound Rescue last year and raised £4050.60 in a day.

“I really want to beat this, this year for Wiley.

“As soon as we decided we wanted to raise money for a charity last year, I suggested Hector’s without a moments hesitation as they do such incredible work for these dogs.

“We all pitched in together, organising and running the event which was a great success.

“With last year’s success in mind, I want to beat this total for my boy.

“We are backing the cause because they need as much help as they can to save more greyhounds.”

The charity tattoo day will take place at Dexterity Wrexham form 10am on August 26.

Pre-drawn tattoos will be available on a walk-in basis, so all you have to do is turn up on the day and wait for your tattoo.
