Police have sadly confirmed the body of a man was found this morning by a bridge on the Llan-y-pwll link road.

Shortly before 4am this morning North Wales Police said that the A5156 Wrexham Link Road (Industrial Estate) was closed both ways between A483 Gresford and Borras Roundabout.

The road reopened nearly an hour later just before 5am.

Several people had been in touch about the road closure overnight, with a number of emergency services vehicles seen in the area.

It has since sadly been confirmed that emergency services had been called to the area following reports of a man found hanging from a bridge at the side of the link road.

A paramedic in a rapid response car and a crew in an emergency ambulance were sent to the scene at 3:40am.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “Police were called at 3.29am today, Friday 26th January, to the report of a body of a man found hanging from a bridge at the side of the A5156, Wrexham link road.

Police added: “The death is not being treated as suspicious.”
