The Armed Forces Day Flag has been raised above Wrexham’s Guildhall in support of those who make up the armed forces community.

This year’s national events take place on 24 June in Cornwall and Newport in South Wales.

Mayor of Wrexham, Cllr Andy Williams, said, “We fly the Armed Forces day flag every year to recognise and thank the armed forces and their families for the sacrifices they make in service of their country.”

“Wrexham has many strong links with the armed forces and when there are events either celebratory or commemorative people line the streets or gather in numbers to recognise the important role they play in our communities.”

“This year many service personnel, veterans and their families from Wrexham will attend one of the national events and I wish them all a safe and enjoyable trip.”
