Four new properties could be developed on open space in Gwersyllt if planning proposals are passed.

In an application submitted to Wrexham Council it is proposed that four houses are developed on vacant green space on the Wheatsheaf Lane in Gwersyllt. Currently the green space is not used, however sits among an existing housing development on Wheatsheaf Lane.

The small development would consist of a combination of detached / semi detached properties and one wheelchair accessible bungalow.

If the proposals are accepted, the development would provide additional ‘affordable housing’ for the area.

Within the application’s Design and Access Statement it notes: “Wrexham County Borough Council has declared a policy to provide new affordable housing in dedicated sites around the County Borough, therefore the homes will provide much needed smaller properties in Gwersyllt.”

In total the development will consist of three, two bedroom semi detached properties and a two bedroom bungalow. Each property will also have a front and back garden and two designated car parking spaces.

The properties will remain in keeping with the preexisting properties on the land, with the Design and Access Statement noting the style of properties is to help ‘ensure the enhancement of the character of the area’.

There planning application is due to go before the Wrexham Council Planning Committee at a later date.
