Update: The A483 Northbound has now reopened, with North Wales Police tweeting to say: “Road is now reopened – thanks for your patience whilst officers dealt with an incident & apols for delays”

Original Story: The northbound A483 is currently closed around Rossett following evidence gathering work, with traffic being diverted onto the Rossett slip road.

Police have told us the road is closed not due to an incident, but for evidence gathering relating to a serious collision that occurred there recently. There is no information to when the road will reopen.

The bypass is currently cordoned off and a forensic van can be seen on the road.

Last time the road was closed for similar work it meant the bypass traffic was being redirected up and over the junction to then rejoin the carriageway.

Currently traffic heading on the A483 northbound is being diverted onto the Rossett slip road.

Police sirens were heard in the vicinity earlier this afternoon, with one person telling us they saw emergency services heading northwards out of Wrexham however that does not appear to be connected.

Paul sent us the above picture taken around 2:30pm saying “Queuing from just past Gresford on ramp towards Rossett”.
