Snowmageddon could be starting this weekend if one forecast is correct.

Although the weather over the last few days has been rain and wind filled, the temperature has remained comparatively warm. This is set to change towards the weekend with Thursday and Friday due to be chillier, with the Met Office predicting temperatures that feel as low as 3C.

Looking through the weekend one forecast states an 86% change of snow on Saturday evening.

The Met Office suggests this is a possible scenario, with their forecast saying: “Colder weather than of late will spread across the UK over the weekend, bringing overnight frost and temperatures down below normal for this time of year.

“Sunny spells and scattered showers will affect many areas on Saturday, the showers falling as sleet, snow or hail in the north, with some sleet or snow possible over hills farther south, all accompanied by some strong and gusty winds.

“Sunday remains cool and showery, then for the start of next week milder conditions look set to return for a time with rain and strong winds spreading across most parts of the UK.”

As always this information is current at the time of writing, and we will keep readers updated. We have taken out the ruler in readiness of snowfall.
