whilst i understand your view, I asked him where in the planning committee regulations does it say he can’t comment. He has chosen to ignore this..
I want to give hime the benefit of the doubt but his behaviour of dodging questions doesn’t leave me with confidence that he has the best interests of the town or his ward at heart.
In the context of being on the planning committee, I feel he should at least explain his ‘no comment’ stance, if this is the case.
As not answering his constituents as our councillor, this is very poor and inexcusable.
I wonder if anyone in power could answer the questions asked here without exposing the dark truth of this subject.

SamParticipantSomehow, I feel that even here, the voting public don’t get any answers.
WHY ?
Not even a simple, I don’t know or I can’t answer that.Such a shame.

SamParticipantCllr Paul Rogers
“The context in which I made a comment on the dividend referring to it as a “business decision” is that a past dividend issued by a company is not a material consideration when determining planning applications.”I’d like to highlight the above remark “a past dividend issued by a company is not a material consideration”.
Sorry, but if the BDL would of completed the Spine Road when they had the available finance back in 2005 – 2006, as promised, instead off giving out large dividends.
Then:
Residents within your community on the New Brymbo site would not be fighting to get a developer promised spine road, school, services, supermarket & ammenities.
Again residents within your community, the people of Tanyfron & the surrounding area would not be fighting to save a field which falls under the scope of green barrier and also trying to keep the villages identity and stop its infrastructure collapsing !
Bits of Your rural community would not be utilized to fund an old bad business deal that went pear shaped many years ago. It’s a bit of a mess really Cllr Paul Rogers, isn’t it.

I see 50,000 more to be let in to Brittain…I assume that means we’re gonna fork out for hundreds of thousands more for benefits…..Or maybe some are gonna take our jobs, when there aren’t enough for our own people….GOOD ONE…I knew the country would come to a standstill with a DAVID running the country……
What about the 3rd generation of Native claimants ?
This problem was originally home grown decades ago.

I thought it would be useful to clarify a few points.
Firstly can I point out that as a member of the Planning Committee I have not publicly supported these two applications and abstained when they were discussed by Brymbo Community Council.
In relation to the suggestion I have thanked those who have supported the application the Wrexham.Com article actually states ‘I would like to thank those who have taken time to comment upon these two applications’. These applications are very important in shaping the future of our community and I am therefore pleased to see both sides of the argument.
Anyone who would like to discuss their concerns or would like information about the overall development can contact me directly by email at [email protected]
Firstly, thank you for your reply.
I would like to add that, whilst I cannot assume your support for the development, the tone of of your comments seem to constitute support.
I am in total agreement with you on the future shaping of our community. Tanyfron is poised to lose its identity with the over development locally, possibly losing our only large recreation greenfield & all whilst our Local Infrastructure is straining as we speak.
Could you clarify why the 5-6 sites within the development have not been revisited with the same interest as the green barrier field in question?
Could you also clarify what assurances can be given to the community that the spine road and the infrastructure is every built with all the back tracking the BDL is now almost famous for ?
Why were the 4 new documents recently submitted to bolster the proposal after the objection deadline so no one could object to numerous additional points raised within them ?
SamParticipantWell said, thanks Wrexham.com.

SamParticipantThe Councillor who stated “it was a business decision!” was Paul Rogers ( Brymbo & Tanyfron Ward).
He stated this openly at a public meeting, therefore, it’s in the public domain. He has submitted an article to Wrexham.com recently thanking for all the local support for this development.

SamParticipantI have asked a councillor who supports the development about the dividend payday, he replied ” it was a business decision !” ( in no uncertain terms).
Eagles meadow, Wrexham village, cefn mawr tescos and Morrisons. Now that’s an interesting take on it. Hopefully our green barrier isn’t going to be added to the list of the above ‘questionable developments’.

SamParticipantTo answer what I can.
The LDP ( local development plan) , or the lack off, has a massive part to play. Effectively, there is no clear plan in place. The WCBC and the Welsh Assembly are still negotiating a way forward. But at the moment, very little to nil guidelines.Regarding their accounts. Plaid Cymru have quoted that when the BDL submitted the books for 2005 -2006 (when the spine road should of been built !), dividends of approx £15 million was paid out to the handful of BDL shareholders.
The Wrexham.com interview ? I would love to see this happen and hopefully try and get some justification of why they have selected this 1 site on green barrier land, whilst the BDL have ignored 5 other sites within the reclaimed site (brown field) that would serve exactly the same purpose.
