Two final submissions, but only one question really…

Rob-Trav said :Just say they are doing a great job!”

and we had a fitness Q emailed in: “Have you any update on the timeline for moving into the new town centre police station? we have seen the drawings include a gym, will all officers be forced to,use it ? Will the Llay Police Station also have a gym? Will we become a two police gym town !”

Mr Laverty tweeted “How many non white officers are in the force around Wrexham? Do Wxm police officers attend Polish language lessons? If not why not?”

One from Facebook: “When exactly do they plan on solving actual crimes like burglaries instead of sitting in the comfy little cash cow AKA arrive alive vans?”

This is not one to add to the Back To The Future tedium of the last 24 hours, despite referring to hover boards:

“How do Wrexham police regard Hoverboards, they have been seen in use in the pedestrian streets of Wrexham.”

The hoverboards in question are these things, which recently were declared as vehicles if I have got that right… so to add to the submitted question above, has anyone been spoken to about using them, or are they getting away too quick?!

This was submitted before our article on the parking changes, but asks if there was consultation with the police over it:

“There are sign up in High Street that maintenance work is imminent ,rumour is yellow lines are to be introduced to stop all parking. What is the legal status of High Street , is it now a “through road “, all be it one you won’t be able to park on ? Presumably the Council have consulted with the Police ?”

Allan got in touch to highlight what seems to be an ongoing frustration of his: “My question is why do the police let people get away with parking over disabled H bar lines. I have called them out many times but they always say same thing. Eg you can get out. ? Point im making i payed to have kerbs dropped have planning permision the white H bar line is to make it easer to manivor in my mind not to make it harder to get out of my drive.been to concil they say its a police matter police say its council been going on for Years.”

One quick Q via twitter came in: “Does Wxm force have a specific internet crime dept? If so, is it busy? If not why not?”

Cut backs have been referred to in one answer above, so here are a couple of related questions:

“In the light of budget cuts how safe are the jobs of the local PCSO’s? They have become the ears and eyes of the police in the locality, and too many local residents they are the first link with the police.” which could link to a question from Janet who asked “Why are they so short of staff?”

Following on from that – Several people have asked questions around Rhosddu (aside from benches) regarding anti social behaviour problems. The common themes are about displacement of problems to Rhosddu from other areas (bans from town centre contributing?). Another speaking of displacement of problems mentioned he thought issues from Rhosddu were now happening in Acton Park. Are the problems in Rhosddu being tackled, and by doing so is that creating issues elsewhere in the area?
